This story is the third in a short-story collection called the Amaranthine Chronicles. In order to really appreciate this series, it should be read in order. So wow, by the time you get to the final battle you are going to be hating Freya! Damn, as a sister goes she just sucks! She makes a great villain though and her long game plan was quite brilliant. Too bad that she has veered into slight madness due to her desperation to retrieve the chronicles by this point.There were a few twists and turns in every story so far and this one was no exception. By the end there was a nice wrap up to many of the threads throughout this story. In addition, there was a satisfying HEA with Elijah and Kaylan but their relationship was shaky right up until the end. The ending battle was not how you would have expected it to go but very entertaining. I enjoyed that the Author kept most scenes from becoming predictable. You may have been able to predict the outcome but not the means on how the Author takes you there. An entertaining series with non-stop action, some suspense and a little paranormal romance thrown in for good measure.

I felt that Shand ended the series well.
The Final Battle is the last book in Tiffany Shand's Amaranthine Chronicles trilogy. Beginning where Dark Revenge ends, the city is running rampant with dangerous shifters. At the command of Freya, the new army of shifters is helping her in her quest to rise to power. Kaylan and her friends must do everything in their power to prevent Freya's ascension to High Lady - or everyone will be doomed.
The Final Battle is engaging from the start. Full of action, twists, and turns, the reader will become fully immersed in the world created by Tiffany Shand. I enjoyed the characters and world building that takes place throughout the novella. The character interactions are realistic. The magical abilities that each of the friends possess are unique and explained well. The author did a remarkable job writing a story filled with action, adventure, romance, suspense, treachery, and more.
